The right fit depends on where you are and what you actually need. Here's how each service works and who it's built for.

BVBI offers three levels of financial reporting and support. Some businesses need a simple, reliable report in their inbox every month. Others need a smarter reporting infrastructure and dashboards that actually update themselves. And some need a financial partner who can help them think through the bigger picture.

Every business has data. Not every business knows what to do with it.

Service No. 1

Regular delivery schedule, daily, weekly, or monthly depending on your package

Owner-friendly summaries and callouts

Budget versus actuals reporting

Cash visibility and cash flow reporting

Profit and loss summary with trend comparisons

What's Included:

This isn't meant to be complicated. It's meant to be useful, repeatable, and something you actually look forward to opening.

The BVBI Monthly Reporting packages fix that. We connect directly to your QuickBooks data, build clean and easy-to-read financial reports, and deliver them to your inbox on a regular schedule. No logins required. No apps to learn. Just a clear picture of how your business is performing, delivered in a format that makes sense.

Most small business owners aren't checking their numbers as often as they should be. Not because they don't care, but because pulling a useful report takes time they don't have. The bookkeeper sends something over, but it doesn't always tell them what they actually need to know. Or they log into QuickBooks, look at a number, and aren't sure what to do with it.

Best for: Small business owners who want consistent financial visibility without building it themselves.

Monthly Reporting

Reporting stops being a once-in-a-while panic and becomes a consistent rhythm. You know how the business is performing without having to dig for it, and you start catching issues earlier because the information is in front of you on a regular basis.

Think of it like upgrading from a paper map to a GPS. The destination is the same. Getting there just becomes a lot less work.

This service is for businesses that are ready to move beyond static spreadsheets and into reporting that actually works the way their business does. That might mean a Power BI dashboard that pulls from multiple data sources and updates automatically. It might mean a smarter Excel-based reporting tool that your team can actually maintain. It might mean cleaning up a reporting process that has become too manual and too fragile to scale.

You have data. It's sitting in QuickBooks, Excel, a job costing system, a sales platform, or some combination of all of the above. The problem isn't the data. It's that pulling it together into something useful takes too long, requires too many hands, and produces reports that are out of date before anyone has a chance to read them.

Best for: Mid-size and larger businesses whose data is good but whose reporting process is slow, manual, or hard to trust.

Custom pricing based on your scope. Starting at $4,000 per month.

Your team spends less time compiling reports and more time using them. Questions get answered faster. Leadership meetings are based on shared, up-to-date information instead of competing spreadsheets. You get closer to the single source of truth that's probably been the goal for a while.

Service No. 3

Leadership support and financial communication

Cost savings analysis and profitability review

Lender and investor reporting

Strategic financial analysis and scenario modeling

Budget development and ongoing budget ownership

Pricing analysis and margin review

Cash planning and 13-week cash flow forecasting

What's Included:

This is less about building a dashboard and more about having someone in your corner who understands the financial side of your business deeply enough to help you run it better.

Fractional CFO Advisory is that layer. It's an ongoing partnership focused on decision-making, not just reporting. We look at your cash, your margins, your costs, your pricing, and your growth trajectory together, and we help you figure out what the right moves are.

There's a layer of financial support that sits between getting your books done and having a full-time CFO on staff. Most small and mid-sized businesses never fill that layer. They have a bookkeeper keeping the records and an accountant handling taxes, but nobody helping them think through what the numbers actually mean or what to do about them.

Best for: Small to mid-size businesses navigating growth, cash pressure, or financial decisions that need a strategic partner, not just a report.

Fractional CFO Advisory

Custom pricing based on your scope. Starting at $4,000 per month.

You have a finance partner who's invested in understanding your business and helping you make better decisions with your money. Cash planning becomes less stressful, growth decisions have more clarity behind them, and the financial side of the business stops feeling like something you're carrying on your own.

What changes...?

Depending on the service, we continue with monthly delivery, refine and expand over time, or provide ongoing advisory partnership.

6. Ongoing Support

For monthly reporting, we establish your reporting rhythm. For dashboard or advisory work, we get into the build and start making progress on the actual deliverables.

5. Build or Reporting Kickoff

We get the right access to your files and systems and keep the setup as simple and secure as possible.

4. Access and Setup

Based on what we find, we recommend the right level of support, whether that's a monthly reporting package, a dashboard project, advisory support, or a combination.

3. Scope and Recommendation

We look at your current reports, QuickBooks setup, Excel files, or other systems involved. The goal is to understand what exists and where the gaps are.

2. Data and Reporting Review

We talk through what's frustrating, what reporting exists today, what systems you're using, and what decisions you wish you could make with more confidence.

1. Intro Call

Whether you're signing on for monthly reporting or a more involved engagement, the process starts the same way: with a conversation.

What getting started actually looks like.

Book a free call. That's what the intro call is for. We'll figure it out together and make sure you're not paying for more than you actually need.

I'm not sure which service I need. What should I do?

For monthly reporting, we can typically have your first report delivered within a few weeks of getting access to your QuickBooks data. For dashboard or advisory work, the timeline depends on scope and we'll walk through that together.

How long does it take to get started?

We work primarily with QuickBooks Online, Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint. If you're using something else, bring it up on the intro call and we'll let you know whether it's something we can connect to.

What systems do you work with?

Absolutely. BVBI isn't here to replace your accountant or bookkeeper. We sit in the layer between the books being done and the numbers being useful, and we work well alongside the people already handling your accounting.

Can BVBI work with my existing accountant or bookkeeper?

For monthly reporting, yes. Your books need to be reasonably current for the reports to be accurate. We work with what you have and can point you toward a good bookkeeper if you need one. For FP&A or advisory work, it depends on the scope, and we'll sort that out during the intro call.

FAQ's

Do I need a bookkeeper before working with BVBI?

Not sure where to start? That's what the first call is for.

We'll look at where you are, what you're working with, and figure out together whether BVBI is the right fit and what that looks like for your business.
